Getting started
What is Mind Mirror?
Mind Mirror is a personal second brain. You capture things worth remembering — notes, screenshots, links, photos, voice recordings, and documents — and the app organizes them for you, links related items together, and lets you ask questions of your own library later in plain language.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The app is free.
How do I capture something?
- From another app. Use the iOS share sheet and choose Mind Mirror. This works for links, text, images, and files.
- Manually. Tap the capture button in the app to type a note, record audio, or attach a photo or file.
- Screenshots. If you grant permission, the app can offer to save screenshots you take.
Common questions
My memory says it's still processing. What's happening?
After you capture something, it is saved immediately and then organized in the background — extracting the text, categorizing it, and looking for connections to what you already saved. This usually takes a few seconds, but a large document or a slow connection can make it longer. Your capture is never lost while this runs; it appears in your library right away and fills in as processing completes.
Does it work offline?
Yes, for capture and for keyword search. Anything you save while offline is stored on your device and syncs when you reconnect. Features that need the server — Ask, insights, and automatic organization — resume once you are back online.
Search isn't finding something I know I saved.
Keyword search matches the text of your memories, including text extracted from images and documents. If an item was captured very recently it may still be processing, so its extracted text is not searchable yet. Check that the item is not archived, and try a distinctive word from the content rather than your description of it. For a looser, meaning-based lookup, use Ask instead of search.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Open iOS Settings → Notifications → Mind Mirror and confirm they are allowed. Then check Settings inside the app: notifications have a daily limit you can adjust, and reminders only arrive for memories that actually contain a date or deadline.
How do I get my data out?
Open Settings → Export library in the app. This produces a copy of your memories that you can save or share through the iOS share sheet.
How do I delete my content or my account?
Both are in Settings inside the app:
- Delete all memories clears your library but keeps your account.
- Delete account removes your account together with the content stored for it.
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. If you cannot reach the in-app option for any reason, email us at the address above and we will process the deletion for you.
Is my content used to train AI models?
No. Your content is processed to provide the features you use — organizing, linking, and answering your questions — and is not used to train models. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on how your data is handled.
